About Me
Hi, I’m Mai
I became a doula because I know what it feels like to go into pregnancy without the support you truly need.
My own experience of birth and early parenthood was one of the things that shaped me most. There were moments of real joy, and moments where I felt scared, uncertain, and like I didn’t quite know who to turn to. I came out the other side, but I also came out of it knowing that things could have felt so different with the right person by my side — someone who was just there for me, not for a shift, not for the clinical task at hand, but genuinely, fully present.
That’s what led me to train as a doula. And honestly, it’s the best decision I’ve made.
What I Believe
I believe every person deserves to feel safe, informed, and supported during one of the most significant experiences of their life. I believe birth — in all its forms, in all its unpredictability — can be something you look back on and feel proud of, regardless of how it unfolds. And I believe that how you’re made to feel during pregnancy and birth matters enormously, not just in the moment, but for a long time afterwards.
My role isn’t to tell you what to do or how to birth. It’s to help you figure out what you want, prepare you as thoroughly as I can, and then be right there with you when it matters most.
My Training and Qualifications
I completed my doula training in 2024/25 and I’m fully insured to practise. Since qualifying, I’ve been dedicated to continuing my learning — I stay current with evidence-based practice, and I bring that knowledge into every conversation and every birth I attend.
You can trust that you’re working with someone who takes this seriously and who is properly prepared to support you.
Based in Worthing, Here for West Sussex
I’m based in Worthing and I support families across Worthing, Brighton, Hove, and the wider West Sussex area. Being local means I know the hospitals, I know the community, and I can be with you quickly when the time comes.
Let’s Talk
If you’re curious about whether having a doula might be right for you — even if you’re not sure yet, even if you just want to ask a few questions — please reach out. A first conversation costs nothing and comes with absolutely no pressure.
I’d genuinely love to hear about your pregnancy and talk through how I might be able to support you.
